Best marketing agencies for plumbers in the UK

A plumber's marketing is a race. The homeowner with a leak phones the first firm that answers, and the one with a bathroom to refit picks the firm whose quote looks most professional. Five UK agencies claim to help plumbers win that race. Here is how they compare on speed, cost and proof.

Judging criteria for plumbing marketing

Plumbing work splits into emergency (burst pipes, blocked drains, no hot water), reactive-but-not-urgent (dripping taps, slow leaks) and planned (bathrooms, repipes, heating). The first depends on map pack rankings and answering the phone; the last depends on trust, photos and quoting.

We scored each agency on whether it builds the local search assets, whether it does anything about unanswered calls, whether it supports a professional quote process, its pricing and contract terms, and the plumbing-specific proof on its own site. Reviews deserve special weight for plumbers: a homeowner letting a stranger into the house to deal with water damage wants to see recent five-star feedback.

1. Agass Marketing Solutions

Best for: South West plumbers who want a website drafted free before they commit

Agass Marketing Solutions, run by Joseph Agass across Weston-super-Mare, Bristol and Somerset, builds a free website draft within 48 hours and only charges if the plumber likes it: £499 one-off, or £699 on WordPress, with optional hosting and changes at £30 a month on no contract. The client owns the site and domain. Plumbers and heating engineers are among its named trades, and a heating and plumbing firm features in its case studies alongside fencing, roofline, locksmith, kitchen and bathroom and carpentry clients.

Sites include service and area pages, reviews and a quote form, and the agency offers Google and Meta ads and local SEO quoted separately. For a plumber who wants to own a site outright and keep the ongoing cost close to zero, the risk-free draft is a compelling way in.

What it does not include is anything to handle enquiries after the site produces them, and the ads and SEO add-ons are not priced on the site.

Verdict: The lowest-risk way to buy a plumbing website outright. First for a plumber whose only need is the site.

2. Riley Marketing

Best for: Plumbers who want the site, the reviews and the missed-call problem solved together

Riley Marketing names plumbers among its core trades and its system is built around the two things that cost plumbers most: unanswered calls and thin review profiles. Missed call text back sends an immediate text to any caller who reaches voicemail, which for an emergency plumber is the difference between a job and a competitor's job. Automated Google review requests, with a reactivation campaign for past customers, build the proof a homeowner wants before letting you in.

The SEO-focused website carries service and location pages, so 'emergency plumber' and 'bathroom installation' each get their own page in each town you cover. Google Business Profile optimisation targets the map pack, and the CRM tracks leads and sends branded quote pages on your own domain, which is where bathroom and repipe jobs are won or lost.

The whole system is a fixed £149 a month at the time of writing. It is built before you pay, with no setup fee, unlimited revisions and no contract. Founder Tom Riley, who has ten years in search and lead generation and has built and run his own lead generation sites, is the person clients deal with. Google Ads and Meta ads are available as add-ons.

It sits second only because this is a plumbers' list and Agass's free-draft model is the purest low-risk option for a firm that wants nothing but a website. For a plumber who wants the phone answered and the reviews flowing, Riley is the better buy.

Verdict: Covers the full plumbing lead cycle for one fee. The pick for a one-to-three-van firm.

3. The Build Agency (Orbit Lead Generation)

Best for: Plumbing and mechanical contractors moving into commercial tenders

The Build Agency in Maidstone is the only agency here with a plumbing contractor as its published case study, covering sales, tender pipeline and pre-qualification questionnaires. Its model is outbound: cold email to contracts and procurement managers, supported by social media, SEO, web design, a purpose-built CRM and photography, with a 30-day guarantee to keep working free until a genuine tender opportunity arrives.

This is for the plumbing firm that wants to fit out a school rather than a bathroom. Pricing is not published. Our profile of The Build Agency covers the model in detail. Domestic plumbers should skip it.

Verdict: Highly specific and well evidenced for commercial plumbing. Not for homeowner work.

4. Leads 4 Local

Best for: South London plumbers wanting a priced Google Maps retainer

Leads 4 Local in Tooting specialises in local SEO and Google Maps rankings for trades and service businesses in South and South-West London, aiming for top-three map positions within months. Plumbers are among its named trades, alongside roofers, electricians, landscapers and cleaners, but also dentists, estate agents and restaurants.

It publishes monthly tiers at £349, £599 and £999 and also offers website design, reputation management, PPC, citations and schema. No case studies are published. For a London plumber whose site is fine and whose problem is map pack visibility, it is a clearly priced option.

Verdict: Transparent pricing for London map pack work; proof and trade focus are weaker than the firms above.

5. One Base Media

Best for: Plumbers wanting a long-established full-service agency

One Base Media in Leigh-on-Sea has worked with trades since 2012 and says it has helped over 1,000 local trades businesses. Plumbers, heating engineers and drainage contractors are all on its list, and its case study library includes plumbing and drainage results. It offers web design, SEO, Google Ads and exclusive leads on one monthly payment with no contracts, with prices on a separate page.

It is a Google Partner and publishes free educational content for trades. For a plumber who wants the reassurance of a large, established agency, it is a reasonable benchmark.

Verdict: Established and broad. A fair comparison point for a plumber weighing a bigger agency.

Deciding as a plumber

If all you want is a good website you own, and you are happy to handle reviews and calls yourself, Agass Marketing Solutions lets you see it before you spend anything. For most working plumbers, though, the enquiries lost to voicemail and the jobs lost to a scrappy quote matter more than the site itself, and that is the problem Riley Marketing is built to fix for £149 a month. Reviews are the new word of mouth explains why the review automation alone can justify the fee.

A plumbing contractor with commercial ambitions has one obvious choice in The Build Agency. A London plumber with a decent site but no map presence can look at Leads 4 Local. One Base Media is the big-agency benchmark.

Whatever you choose, do not sign anything that locks you in for a year. Three of these five work without a contract, which tells you a good plumbing agency can keep clients on results. Our guide to agency red flags lists the other things to watch for, and the full UK trades agency ranking widens the field.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best marketing channel for an emergency plumber?

The Google map pack, backed by recent reviews and a phone that gets answered or texted back within seconds. Paid ads can supplement it, but an unanswered call wastes every penny spent getting it.

How much should a plumber spend on marketing?

As a worked example, a plumber averaging £250 a job who spends £150 a month only needs one extra job a month to cover it. Spend more once you can see which channel is producing.

Do plumbers need separate pages for each town?

Yes if you cover more than one. A single 'areas we cover' list rarely ranks; a page per town with local detail does, and three of the agencies here build them as standard.

Should a plumber pay for shared leads?

Usually not. Shared leads mean racing three other plumbers to the same homeowner. Your own site, Google profile and reviews bring enquiries that are yours alone.
