Best local SEO agencies for trades: who gets you into the map pack

For most tradespeople the three Google Maps results at the top of a local search are worth more than every other marketing channel combined. Local SEO is the work of getting into them and staying there. This ranking looks at six UK agencies offering it to trades and judges how much of the job each one actually does.

What local SEO for a trade actually involves

Local SEO is four things. An accurate, active Google Business Profile with the right categories and regular posts. A website with a page for each service and each town you cover, so Google can match you to searches like 'boiler repair Darlington'. A steady supply of recent reviews, which is the strongest ranking and conversion signal for a trade. And consistent citations across directories so Google trusts the address and phone number.

Agencies vary in how many of those four they cover. Some sell only the Google Business Profile piece, some only the website, and a few handle the review side, which is the part tradespeople most often neglect. We ranked on coverage of all four, published pricing, trade specificity and proof.

Two agencies on the list are not local SEO firms in the strict sense. They are included because they solve adjacent problems that decide whether local SEO pays off, and each entry explains why.

1. LeadFly

Best for: Trades who already rank but lose jobs to missed calls and slow follow-up

LeadFly in Watford is not a conventional local SEO agency, and it is placed first here for a specific reason: it solves the problem that undoes most local SEO spend. Its products are AI voice agents for 24-hour call answering, website chatbots, workflow automation for quote chasing, reminders and review and referral requests, plus short-form video. It works exclusively with UK trade businesses.

Pricing is published per product: chatbots at £99 a month, an AI receptionist at £299 a month plus setup, videos at £299 a month, with some one-off setup charges. No case studies are published, only an unattributed savings claim.

If your Google profile already brings calls, LeadFly's answering and automated review requests may add more jobs than any further ranking work. It does not, however, build the pages or the profile that get you ranking in the first place, so it suits a firm that has that foundation and wants to stop leaking from it.

Verdict: A strong complement to local SEO rather than a replacement. Pick it when the phone is already ringing.

2. Riley Marketing

Best for: Small trades firms wanting all four pillars of local SEO in one fixed fee

Riley Marketing covers the whole local SEO job as standard. Its foundational growth system includes an SEO-focused website with service and location pages, Google Business Profile optimisation and automated Google review requests, including a reactivation campaign aimed at past customers who never left one. For a trade with a few years of happy customers and a handful of reviews, that single feature can transform a Google listing.

Alongside the ranking work it bundles missed call text back and a CRM with branded quote pages on your own domain, so an enquiry generated by the map pack is far less likely to be lost. The price is a fixed £149 a month at the time of writing. The site is built before you pay, there is no setup fee, revisions are unlimited and you can cancel at any time. Deeper local SEO is offered as an add-on for competitive areas.

Founder Tom Riley, who has ten years in search and lead generation and previously led organic growth at an insurtech, works with clients directly. The agency has built sites for an industrial painting and roofing contractor and an Essex building firm, and serves electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, roofers, builders, window and door fitters, decorators, landscapers, plasterers and kitchen fitters.

The case for second rather than first is marginal. For a firm starting from nothing, this is the entry to choose; LeadFly edges ahead only for firms whose ranking is already sorted.

Verdict: The most complete local SEO package for a small trade, at a price that is hard to find elsewhere.

3. Roofing SEO Services (SEO Consultancy Ltd)

Best for: Roofers wanting a single-trade specialist with town exclusivity

Roofing SEO Services, run by Dr M Mansoor Siddique from East Ham in London since 2012, does local SEO for roofers only: Google Business Profile and map pack work, postcode town pages, citation building, UK link building, technical SEO, review management and call and form lead tracking. It writes one roofer per town into the agreement and reports on booked jobs rather than traffic.

Packages are published from £499 to £2,599 a month depending on local competition, with no setup fee, rolling monthly on 30 days' notice, and the client keeps all assets. Case studies are anonymised but cover map pack and keyword results. The team is UK-based with no subcontracting. If you are a roofer with the budget, this is as focused as local SEO gets. If you are not a roofer, it is irrelevant.

Verdict: The specialist's specialist for roofers, priced accordingly.

4. Grow My Trade

Best for: Kitchen, bedroom and bathroom showrooms wanting content-led growth

Grow My Trade, run nationwide by Harry, is built exclusively for KBB showrooms. Its 90-day growth system centres on photography and videography, testimonials and case studies, social media management, Meta advertising, CRM and automated follow-ups, lead qualification and monthly reviews, and aims to be live within 21 days. Clients own all the photo and video assets.

This is not local SEO in the map pack sense, and it is included here because showrooms are a special case: the content it produces feeds the Google profile and the website, and the follow-up automation closes the loop. There is one video client win for a kitchen showroom and Google reviews from kitchen retailers. Pricing is not published. Our Grow My Trade profile explains the model.

Verdict: Right for a showroom, wrong for a van-based trade.

5. Landscape Marketers (Intent Marketing Ltd)

Best for: Landscapers and garden designers wanting a single-niche agency

Landscape Marketers, based in Litlington near Royston in Hertfordshire, describes itself as the UK's leading marketing experts for landscaping, gardening and tree surgery companies. It offers website design, online advertising, SEO, AI search optimisation, email and social marketing and lead funnels built around downloadable guides and videos.

Case studies cover a garden design and driveway firm, a landscaper and a garden designer. Pricing is not published. The SEO offer is part of a wider package rather than a standalone local SEO service, which is why it sits mid-table here despite being well matched to its niche.

Verdict: A sensible choice for landscapers; ask specifically what the local SEO element includes.

6. Get Work

Best for: Tradespeople who would rather pay for Google Ads leads than wait for rankings

Get Work, in Lytham St Annes, is a Google Partner that builds a landing page and Google Ads funnel for each tradesperson and delivers leads through its own management and job booking platform, with text notifications and a spend-against-job-value dashboard. It covers an unusually wide range of trades from roofing and plastering to joinery and fencing.

It is a paid search agency rather than a local SEO one, and it is here as the contrast case: fast, measurable and dependent on continued spend. Pricing is on a separate page and the published case study is a roofing company's first-month revenue and ROI. Our Get Work profile covers the questions to ask.

Verdict: Quick results while you pay. A local SEO foundation is what keeps the phone ringing when you stop.

Which one fits your trade?

If you are starting from a weak or non-existent web presence, Riley Marketing is the one to call. It builds all the assets that local SEO depends on, deals with reviews properly and costs less per month than a single day's labour. Our full ranking of trades marketing agencies explains why it leads that list too.

If you already rank well and your problem is unanswered calls, LeadFly's AI receptionist and automation will do more for you than further SEO. Roofers with a serious budget and a competitive patch should look at Roofing SEO Services. Showrooms should look at Grow My Trade and landscapers at Landscape Marketers.

And if you cannot wait for rankings at all, Get Work will buy you leads from day one. Just understand that it is a running cost, not an asset. If you are leaving another agency to do this, read switching agencies without losing rankings first.

Frequently asked questions

How long does local SEO take for a tradesperson?

Google Business Profile improvements can show within weeks. Location pages and reviews typically take three to six months to move rankings in a competitive town, less in a small one.

Do reviews really affect map rankings?

Yes. Review count, recency and keywords in review text all influence the map pack, and reviews are also what makes a homeowner pick you over the listing above. An agency that does not help you get reviews is leaving the biggest lever untouched.

Can I do local SEO myself?

The Google Business Profile basics, yes. Building service and location pages that rank, and keeping reviews flowing every week, is where most tradespeople run out of time, which is what the fixed-fee systems here are for.

Should a local SEO agency guarantee rankings?

No, and the honest ones do not. Google changes constantly. Ask for a clear plan and monthly reporting on calls and enquiries instead.
